Three Pastoral Scenes was commissioned by the Musical Chairs Chamber Ensemble, after I was chosen for their 2014 Composer Search competition. The piece paints three different nature scenes, using three distinct styles: The first movement is set as a lyrical song; the second, a serial/minimalist hybrid; and the third, a folksong-inspired dance.
